Whose policy this is
These notes cover goldenbails.com, the hotel shortlist that trades as Gilded Pass. Its editorial desk looks after the thin slice of personal data described here, and you can reach that desk at hello@goldenbails.com.
Reading costs you no data
Gilded Pass has no sign-ins, no newsletter and no club. Every ticket and page opens without you revealing anything about yourself, and no analytics package or audience counter has ever been installed.
Letters to the desk
Write to us, by plain email or through our draft-building form, and we see whatever the email holds: typically a name, a reply address and the note itself. We use it to understand the note and answer it; no second purpose exists.
Logs kept by the host
The company that serves these pages may record ordinary connection details on its own, such as an IP address, the browser in use, the address requested and a timestamp. Those logs keep the site safe and running, are cleared after a brief interval and are never used to pick out an individual.
The one entry in your browser
A single small value is saved in your browser so the storage notice remembers your click. It is described in our Cookie Policy.
Off the table
- No ad pixels, share buttons or tracking code appear anywhere on Gilded Pass.
- Gilded Pass compiles no dossiers on readers, and no software decides anything about you.
- Reader details never change hands for money or favours.
Services outside our control
Lettering on this site is served by Google Fonts, so fetching it exposes your IP address to Google. Clicking through to a resort's website places you under that resort's own privacy rules.
Why we may hold it, and for how long
Our ground for processing is legitimate interest in replying to whoever contacts the desk. A thread stays in our mailbox while it is active and is deleted within a year of its last message.
What you can ask for
Depending on your country, data protection rules may entitle you to a copy of what we hold, to corrections, to deletion, to restricting or objecting to its use, and to lodging a complaint with your national regulator. Send any such request to the desk and it will be answered inside the deadline your law sets.
Readers under 18
Gilded Pass is written for grown-ups only. We never set out to collect anything from minors, and any note that turns out to come from one is deleted straight away.
Revisions
A change in our data habits would mean a rewritten page and a fresh date under its heading.
